Xiaomi stops providing software support for its older models. In this regard, the company has announced that it has cut update support for 6 more models in the Redmi and Mi series. The devices include popular models like the Mi 10 series and Redmi Note 10 5G.
Xiaomi Mi 10 series and more will not receive updates
Xiaomi has discontinued software support for 6 devices. Updating the EOS list, the company said these phones will no longer receive Android or monthly security updates.
Here are the devices for which Xiaomi has stopped update support:
- Xiaomi Mi 10
- Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro
- Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra
- Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro
- Xiaomi Redmi 9C
- Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G
These phones have been released between 2020-2021. While this may seem surprising for still-popular models like the Redmi Note 10 5G, it’s important to remember that Xiaomi usually promises software updates for 2-3 years.
The end of support means that these phones will remain on their current versions of Android. For example, the Mi 10 series will not see beyond Android 13. This also means that they will be vulnerable to new security issues.
If you own one of these phones, don’t worry. Many popular apps and services will still work, so you can continue to use the phone as usual. However, you will not be able to receive future software updates.
